Inspiring Team building and Communication

We often think in our lives that we we were meant to do something good, something noble, something amazing but then we think what a single person can do.We need a team for that purpose.

So the question arises what is team?

Teams are a part of everyone’s life. You’re a member of a family team, a staff team, school, health care and community teams.

So it’s quite important that you understand how to function effectively as a team member and how to build up a team.

Now a question comes in our mind why do we need teamwork?

The multi-dimensional and thus multi-discipline nature of many problems requires a team approach. This approach encourages you as staff with complementary skills and competencies, to coordinate your efforts.

By establishing priorities, concentrating financial resources, and combining knowledge and expertise, you can have greater impact on serious problems through your program efforts.

Such efforts can serve to:

1) lighten your work load,

2) reduce duplication of efforts, and

3) produce a result greater than all of your separate efforts.

The next main factor in team building is how to develop a good team:

It’s important to realize that the development of effective working relationships among a team is a gradual process which requires considerable time and skill.

I wondered how will it feel to do teamwork in real.Luckily,being a fellow of Foster Flagship Training program the first outdoor project assigned to us was Tree Plantation.

Tree plantation is a dire need in the present time considering the exponential increase in temperature that we are facing now a days. It not only reduces Global warming but it makes our environment beautiful.

So,we thought lets do something noble and plant trees

Now,to accomplish this mission we needed to communicate, coordinate and execute well.

So,first I contacted my team members to have a meeting and we presented our views and then the problem arouse the location was not decided.At this moment our leader Adil lead us and finalized a location.

The location we decided was GT Road Gujrat

The plants we selected for this purpose were Koneer and Jutt Rofa.

The entire team played their role and it was their trust that led us to its completion.I really felt privileged to be a part of this noble act and this perfect team

Practical Demonstration of Team work

By planting trees on GT road near and in front of Bus Stand, we learnt how to be patient. We felt our confidence boosted up. We learnt how to manage a situation, how to cooperate with different mindset people and how to understand their mentality. This project gave us opportunity to interact with complete strangers and as a result we felt a sense of improvement in our communication skills. We decided to take care of these mini trees and for that purpose we assigned this job to our team members.

After completing this noble deed,I came to know that

Advantages of Tree Plantation

1. Trees result in afforestation which prevents the Land sliding.
2. It makes our environment beautiful and favorable for both wildlife and human life.
3. It improves the quality of air that we breathe and reduces both pollution and Global warming

2. Trusting your team members,Cooperating and understanding are the key to a superb teamwork.
3. Plant trees as our ancestors did for us.
